A graduate of the prestigious Graham Webb Academy of Arlington, Virginia, Sydney grew up in the Kent Island community. After finishing her education, she worked in local salons creating a reputation for herself and building a considerable clientele before starting her family. After an extended maternity leave, Sydney became anxious to return to the beauty industry. After exploring her options locally, Sydney began to look for openings at salons in the Annapolis area in an attempt to become a part of a high end salon. Ultimately deciding that the distance was too far to travel with a young child, she turned down several offers and began exploring her options locally again when she found that Atelier had opened in her time away from the industry. She has quickly become a key member of the Atelier team and regularly seeks to advance her education through training and industry events. Sydney was the first member of the Atelier styling team outside of ownership to receive the noteworthy promotion to Senior Stylist and she takes her title very seriously assisting in the mentoring of young stylists and shampoo technicians alike. Sydney has received hands on training from Kevin Murphy education director Tim Abney and master stylist Ali Batista as well as hands on training from Eufora global educator Julie Cross and Eufora business education from CEO Don Bewley and is certified in the Flamboyage technique of color application that is a cornerstone of Davines color salons.

After several years spent at Lehman Larue, Ashley chose to return to Swan Cove at the behest of her clients who longed for the spa services that they were unable to obtain at Lehman Larue. Ashley worked again at Swan Cove for an additional five years before choosing to seek another salon and spa to become a part of; one that offered a slightly more elevated experience for her clients who received spa services. She ultimately found her new home with Salon Atelier.
